Meaghan Hicks was diagnosed with primary
pulmonary hypertension as a 13 year-old in
1994 and given less than a year to live. The
medications she required to stay alive in the
final weeks of her fight to survive PPH included:
Procardia XL, Dijoxin, Spiroholactone, Viagra,
Coumadin, Tracleer, Zofran, Lasix, Potassium,
Xanax, Flolan, Zoloft, Norinyl Abuterol, Flovent,
Oxygen (as needed), Various over the counter
medications to help address various side effects
of medications.
In February 2007, as she was failing rapidly,
she received a successful heart-lung transplant
at Stanford University Medical Center. She
hopes to attend Driving "Fore" A Cure.
