| Meaghan was diagnosed with primary pulmonary hypertension as a 13 year-old in 1994 and given less than a year to live. In February 2007, as she was failing rapidly, she received a successful heart-lung transplant at Stanford University Medical Center. She had hoped to attend Driving "Fore" A Cure this year. Sadly, Meaghan lost her fight against pulmonary hypertension on 30 January 2009. She never, ever gave up. Her father, Carl Hicks, will attend in her place.
